The VCAA, in partnership with VicTESOL and with support from DET, CECV and ISV, are conducting six face-to-face presentations and four webinar sessions to introduce teachers to the English as an Additional Language (EAL) curriculum and support materials.
The face-to-face sessions will explore topics including:
specific elements of the EAL curriculum such as Rationale and Aims, Structure, Content, Assessment
using the support materials (Glossary, Diagnostic interview, sample learner progressions)
using the EAL in the classroom.
implementation process (optional use of draft, feedback, release of final version).
The webinars will cover topics including:
background, aims and purpose of the EAL curriculum
navigating the EAL curriculum
using the support materials (Glossary, Diagnostic interview, sample learner progressions).
